May 10 is recognized as a day to “Bear Witness” to Jordan’s Principle, which honours Jordan River Anderson and his family.

Jordan’s Principle ensures First Nations children living in Canada have access to the health, social and educational products, services and supports they need when they need them.

International Family Equality Day (IFED) is celebrated annually on May 7.

Students from across the district attended Skills Ontario Skills Competitions and Conferences from May 1 - May 3, 2023. DSB1 was well represented, with 32 students competing in Skills competitions.
